What can you change after publishing your invitation?
The venue changed, the time moved, there is a typo in the text. What stays editable after publishing, what locks, and why.
What stays editable
The expensive part of a printed invitation is that nothing can change once it is printed. If the venue changes, every card is printed again.
In a digital invitation these details stay editable after publishing:
- Venue name, address and city
- Time
- The invitation text and the opening line
- Cover photo and images
- Dress code, order of the day, gift account
The link stays the same. So even if you change the venue after sending the invitation to a hundred people, you do not send anyone a new link; everyone sees the current details.
What locks
Two things are fixed by payment:
- The couple's names
- The event date
Why locked?
These two answer the who and the when of the invitation. Left open, a paid invitation could be handed to another couple, or moved to another day to stretch the publication window.
The lock is not a penalty; it is what fixes the thing you paid for.
What if there is a typo?
For something like a misspelled name you open a **correction request** from your dashboard. The support team looks at it and fixes it.
A locked invitation can have only one open correction request at a time, so there is never a question about which change is pending.
Practical advice: read the names out loud before you publish. It is the most common correction request we get.
